Paul Tulipana
Hi, I'm Paul and this is my homepage.
I'm a PhD student in Philosophy at Stanford University. I am interested in metanormativity, philosophy of action, and mental and linguistic representation; more specifically, I am interested in the possibility of a broadly Kantian view at the intersection of these topics. I am also keen on German Idealism, particularly Hegel.
Here are some (getting on not-so) recent papers:
- Kant's Conception of Autonomy in Two Objections to Metaethical Constitutivism, presented at the APA Pacific, April 2011.
- Saving the Many and the Value of Human Life in Scanlon's Contractualism, presented at the APA Central, March-April 2011.
- The Normative Question and the Rules of Moral Salience, presented at Georgia State University, March 2011.
What else? I have a BFA Sculpture from Washington University and an MA Philosophy from GSU. At various points along the way, I made visual art in collaboration with Sean, worked as a computer programmer, and wrote a design blog with Nick and Andrea.
I have "professional" online profiles at the Stanford Philosophy Department, LinkedIn, and Academia, and "personal" ones at Facebook, Twitter, and Google. You can email me .
